The City of Duncan has contracted Main Street Duncan, Inc. since 1986. Main Street Duncan's mission is "dedicated to preserving the heritage of the downtown Duncan district".
The downtown district includes Main Street, Walnut Avenue and Willow Avenue from 7th Street to 12th Street and our preservation efforts are focused primarily in the area.
Main Street Duncan is a 501©3 charity and all donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent of federal and state tax laws; the program has been affiliated with the Oklahoma Main Street Center and nationally accredited through the National Trust for Historical Preservation.
As a Main Street America™ Accredited program, Main Street Duncan, Inc. is a recognized leading program among the national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. All Main Street America™ Accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by the National Main Street Center.
